ماعدتُ أمشي تحتَ ظلِّ سَماكا

أوْ أقتفي بعد الرحيلِ خُطاكا

 

ما عدتُ أبْكي فوقَ أطلالِ اللقا

أوْ أنْ أنادي في الفضا أهواكا

 

ما عدتُ أسألُ عن حكاياكَ التي

أضْحتْ بعيْني في الكرى أشْواكا

 

 

هذي دفاتريَ القديمةُ مُزِّقتْ

ومحوْتُ ما قدْ سطَّرَتْ يُمناكا

 

سِرْ حيثُ شئتَ فلا البِعادُ يَهُدُّني

كلا، ولنْ يَكوي الفؤادَ جفاكا

 

 

سِرْ حيثُ طابَ لكَ المُقامُ بقضِّهِ

وقضيضِهِ  لا تعْشَقنَّ سواكا

 

أنا ما انْتهيٍتُ ولا تفَحَّمَ خافقي

كلا، ولا ماتَ الهوى إلاكا

After Departure

I no longer walk in the shadows of your sky

Nor track down your footsteps after departure

 

I no longer cry over the debris of our meetings

Nor cry out everywhere: I love you

 

I no longer ask for your tales

That have turned in my eyes into thorns while I am asleep

 

These are your notebooks torn into shreds

After I rubbed from them all your handwritings

 

So go away wherever you want

For your forsaking me shall not break me down

Nor my heart shall be burnt with your estrangement

 

 

Go away wherever you shall feel happy

And wherever you shall care for none but yourself

 

For this is not the end for me and

my heart will never be burnt to ashes

It is only you who have passed away!
